Duruflé’s Requiem – rehearsed and sung ‘on the day’

5 October 2019 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm

The Requiem by Durufle sung by The Parish Choir with ‘on the day’ singers from local choirs.

On 5th October St Mary’s Ewell will be holding an event in their long line of ‘on the day’ performances. We will be preparing for a performance of the exquisite Requiem by Maurice Durufle. Jonathan Holmes will lead guest singers along with our own Parish Choir with accompanist Simon Gregory at the organ. We will register (cost £8 adults, free to school choirs) and give out copies at 3pm in the Parish Room (please enter through the back door on the East side of the church).

We will start practising at 3.15pm and break for tea and cake at 4pm. At 4.30pm we will resume practising until 6pm then finish. There are several local cafes and pubs for refreshment, or you are welcome to picnic in the parish room.
We should be seated for the start of the concert at 7.25pm. Could you please wear black?

Those who would like to hear the Requiem but not sing: the arrangements are as usual for recitals, beginning 7:30pm.

All proceeds will go to the Arthur Mathews Organ Fund in aid of the Willis Organ at St. Mary’s. Refreshments are served during the interval. Information about tickets etc is here.
