Sunday Services
There are several services each Sunday, offering a variety of forms
of worship. This page shows our usual monthly pattern, but please check the church diary, as the pattern changes on special occasions.
Many of our services are traditional, accompanied by a fine organ and a robed choir.
Others are much more informal, especially those aimed at children, such as the Toddle Up! service.
Everyone is welcome, whatever their religious background.
Our usual Sunday pattern:
8:00am |
A simple, said service of Holy Communion with a sermon. |
9:30am |
Sung Eucharist - a service of Holy Communion with hymns, choral music, and a sermon. There's Children's Hour and Wayfarers most Sundays
in term time, and a crèche on the first Sunday of the month. On the third Sunday of the month, an all-age talk usually takes the place of the sermon. You can read
a description of this service.

11:00am |
The type of service varies week by week at 11am but the usual pattern is:
1st Sunday: Choral Mattins - a traditional sung service of Morning Prayer, with hymns and a sermon
2nd Sunday: Toddle Up! A short and very informal service especially for toddlers and their families.
3rd Sunday: Holy Communion - the traditional 1662 service, with hymns
4th Sunday: Baptism service - all are welcome, even if you aren't supporting a particular baptism candidate
There are also special services, including informal all-age worship services, for special occasions. |
5:30pm |
Once a month, usually the 2nd Sunday of the month, there is Choral Evensong. On some other Sundays there is sometimes a simple said service of Evening Prayer. |
Regular weekday services:
Daily (Usually
Monday to Thursday, but check the Weekly Notes or phone the parish
office to be sure)
9:00am Morning Prayer - simple said prayers to start the day
Tuesdays
10:00am Holy Eucharist (said) - This takes place in the Parish Room (entry through the door on the
Church Street side of the Church).
