David is now the longest serving member of the choir, having joined in 1966. He served the RSCM as a Residential Course House Captain in the 1970s and was a member of the Guildford Area RSCM Committee for a number of years with responsibility for the affiliated churches in the Epsom Deanery. Together with the previous Area Chairman, Peter Halliday, he produced the first syllabus for the Area's Dean's and Bishop's Awards, which was used for many years until replaced in 2001.
Hoot Head Chorister Emeritus,

"Hoot" is the choir mascot. Very many years ago, a previous Organist, Mr Jack Keyes, used to comment that, on occasions, boy choristers, especially those from cathedrals, tended to hoot whilst singing. This gave us the inspiration for the mascot. As you can see he has his own cassock and winged surplice!!
