There will be fun each day at 3.30pm from 1st to 23rd December as children and adults see ‘the display of the day’ revealed in a shop in Ewell Village High Street or, on 14th December at Christ Church, and on 24th December at St Mary’s Church. The exciting new venture is the result of collaboration between St Mary’s Church, Ewell Village Traders’ Association and Ewell Village Residents’ Association, who have spent three months working on the idea of the calendar.

The shops and church displays are created around 24 numbers designed by pupils at St Martin’s Junior School, Epsom.

On Christmas Eve at 2.30pm and 4pm at St Mary’s Church, London Road KT17 2AY the heart of Christmas will be revealed at two family Crib services ‘The arrival at Bethlehem’ and at 11.45pm there will Midnight Mass.

Vicar of St Mary’s, the Revd Russell Dewhurst says:

We can’t wait to see the different displays. Advent is a time of preparation for Christmas and each display will take us on a different journey as we wait for the celebration of Jesus’ birth in this world. I hope that lots of people will join us and enjoy the displays and take time out of this busy season to reflect on the light and the hope at the heart of it all.

Annie Ralph, representing Ewell Village Traders’ Association and Ewell Village Residents’ Associations says –

When people from different organisations join forces and ideas, new friendships are formed and a whole community can benefit.
