The Ewell Village Advent Calendar is back for the tenth year! From 1 December, different letters – ‘the clues’ – will be displayed in the window or inside 22 local shops and on the outside notice boards of St Mary’s Church and Christ Church, Ewell. Each shop and church will have a poster outside created around 24 numbers designed by 1st Ewell Village (St Mary’s) Brownies.
Every child wishing to take part will be given a special Advent Calendar booklet to complete by writing in each clue. St Mary’s Church will have number 24. Answers to the puzzle can be delivered to ‘All Things Nice’ until noon on 22 December and to St Mary’s Church until just before the start of the 2.00pm Christmas Eve Crib Service.
An ideal time for children to find the clues will be on 9 December from 5pm to 8pm at ‘Ewell Yule’. This is the annual community event when shops in the village are open late for shopping, with children’s rides, festive food and drink, Morris Men, carols and music. Car parking is free from 4pm.
