On Saturday 9 March a Cake Sale was held in the Church Hall to raise funds for our Sound System Appeal. The date was chosen as the day before Mothering Sunday, so that people could buy cakes for Mothering Sunday tea parties. The turn out certainly vindicated that decision, as even before the official opening time of noon the hall was bursting at the seams with people buying some of St Mary’s famous cakes. A coffee shop, and CD and plant sale also attracted visitors, and a raffle was held for a special Mothering Sunday decorated cake. Drawing the raffle, the Vicar thanked all those who had made the event possible by many hours’ work behind the scenes, and all those who attended.
