The Ewell Village Advent Calendar is back! From 1 December, different letters – ‘the clues’ – will be displayed in the window or inside 22 local shops and on the outside notice boards of St Mary’s Church and Christ Church, Ewell. Each shop and church will have a number from 1 to 24 designed by 1st Ewell Village (St Mary’s) Brownies.
Every child wishing to take part will be given a special booklet to complete by writing next to each number the matching letter or ‘clue’. St Mary’s Church will have number 24. Answers to the puzzle can be delivered to ‘All Things Nice’ until noon on Monday 23 December and to St Mary’s Church until just before the start of the 2.00pm Christmas Eve Crib Service.
An ideal time for children to find the clues will be on 6 December from 5pm to 8pm at ‘Ewell Yule’. This is the annual community event when shops in the village are open late for shopping, with children’s rides, festive food and drink, Morris Men, carols and music. Car parking is free from 4pm.
