On 11 May you are invited to join St Mary’s Parish Retreat at The Abbey in Chertsey. Our venue is a large Georgian house, with a comfortable sitting room, a dining room, a TV room, a garden room and a quiet room. The house has a large walled garden with plenty of seats and is a member of the Quiet Garden Movement.   You may wish to come along to enjoy the company of other members of St Mary’s or to take time out on your own. The Ewell Village Advent Calendar is back for the tenth year! From 1 December, different letters – ‘the clues’ – will be displayed in the window or inside 22 local shops and on the outside notice boards of St Mary’s Church and Christ Church, Ewell. Each shop and church will have a poster outside created around 24 numbers designed by 1st Ewell Village (St Mary’s) Brownies. Every child wishing to take part will be given a special Advent Calendar booklet to complete by writing in each clue. St Mary’s Church will have number 24. Answers to the puzzle can be delivered to ‘All Things Nice’ until noon on 22 December…
