    Operation Christmas Child

    We are supporting Operation Christmas Child again this year. All are invited to put together a shoebox of gifts which will be sent to a child somewhere in the world who otherwise would receive nothing at Christmas. It’s important to read the instructions carefully: look at their website or pick a leaflet up in the church. Church will be open on Tuesday 3 November, 5–6 pm and the Vicar will be there to bless each box as it arrives. You will be invited to put you shoebox directly into a large crate.     Virtual Day for All on 26 September

    A morning of varied on-line live and recorded events for all ages on the theme of caring for nature and the environment has been organised for 26 September and will be shown on the Events section of St Mary’s Facebook page. Everything is on-line because, sadly, we aren’t able to meet in church as usual this year. You can see the on-line programme here. There are three competitions all with a deadline for entries of 23.59 on 20 September. For details about how to enter the photo, poetry and creative creatures competitions, see here.     Patrick Miller

    UPDATE: The funeral of our friend and priest Patrick Miller will be this Thursday, 10 September, at 11.30am. Because of limits on numbers, only family and a few close friends can attend in person. Everyone else is encouraged to attend the funeral online, as we plan a basic livestream on Facebook in the same way as we do for our Sunday services. You don’t need to be a Facebook user.
